DevOps System Administrator and Support

We are looking for a fast learning and ambitious mid-level DevOps engineer with AWS and automation experience to join our tribe as part of our global DevOps team.

Bancstac partners with banks and enables bank customers to accept digital payments from a wide range of payment methods including global rail schemes, alternative forms of payments, closed payment systems, and real-time settlement systems. As the bank’s payment technology layer, Bancstac facilitates secure e-commerce transactions and seamlessly integrates with bank legacy systems, becoming an integral part of bank payment infrastructure.

Our technology team is distributed across three different time zones in our wholly-owned subsidiary entities, Paycorp International (Sri Lanka), Numo Labs (Bosnia) and Numo Labs (Australia). DevOps is primarily tasked with ensuring our production environments are built and maintained to very high standards.

  • Have previously worked in a DevOps environment.

  • Enjoy taking ownership of releases and deployment of software into production environments and supporting your colleagues on building great products.

  • Are lazy. Probably not in the way you’re thinking. You should have a deep desire and a keen eye for automation wherever possible in the DevOps end-to-end architecture.

  • Maximizing the availability and uptime of all services through proactive planning, sound architectural decisions, automation and rapid response to failures.

  • Enjoy being proactive and solution oriented. i.e. constantly look to implement procedures to ensure maximum availability, performance, security, and scalability production systems.

  • Are passionate about customer service and love working with customer support and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve faults.

  • Are detailed oriented, organized & happy to work independently.

  • Love challenging problems. Our systems processes billions of records per day with tight performance requirements.

  • Are willing to join our 24/7/365 support rotation roster and jump in to rapidly resolve faults when they arise.

  • Have great written communication skills. Being a distributed and virtual team, much of our communications is over written channels. You should be comfortable communicating and articulating your ideas in written form.

// Core competencies that will allow you to succeed in this role:

  • AWS Administration: Current certification or working towards certification.

  • Infrastructure-as-code: AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Serverless Framework.

  • Scripting/Programming Languages: Bash, Python, Ruby etc.

  • System Administration: Linux based infrastructure.

  • Containerizing & Clustering: Docker and container orchestration.

  • Version Control Systems: Git, Jira.

  • CI/CD Implementation: Jenkins.

  • Databases: AuroraDB. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle.

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.

// You may have experience with:

  • Scripting/Programming Languages: Golang, Ruby on Rails, Elixir, Rust.

  • Configuration Management: Ansible.

  • NoSQL: Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra.

  • Networking and Security (physical and virtual) AWS VPC, Cisco, Juniper, DNS, Firewalls, VPN.

  • Exposure to design APIs. RESTful services.
